colour

colour management . training . separations

Working with colour is most satisfying and involves so many variables that it’s hard to fully anticipate final outcome while having access just to a small part of whole printing system. There are two possible scenarios of work:
a) preparing our workflow to fully use capabilities of available technologies or
b) predict most common mistakes and eliminate them by introducing most error proof workflow, often with limitations.
Dependable whether we are graphic studio creating images / documents or print house that accepts them – consciousness about our and our cooperatives work is strictly needed.
I’m passionate about colour theory for past 18 years. In my line of work I was dealing with manual ICC profile creation, their in-depth editing, developing recipes for new inks (co-author of commercialised HP Elektroink LLk), creating CMS policies in print production as engineer, colour gamut mapping, designing separation and calibration algorithms that have it’s usage with special inks.

colour management

I conduct internal audits for print houses in order to verify colour policy. According to my clients expectations I help to adapt current and employ new ones and with this to create procedures that helps workflow.
Printing system analysis and it’s full calibration both densitometric and colorimetric are basic practical elements of any CMS assignment. Next stage is training.

training

Being brief: colour is often defined as abstract, therefor we need to know what we are talking about. Each and every one of us has it’s own specialty like for example fluorescent or metallic inks, but in communication with subcontractors or cooperators common tongue is a key. I encourage to look into training offer.

separations

Preparing printing files with spot / special inks requires several aspects analysis. For example substrate, ink order, TAC (total area coverage) or screening methods. If on our side is also possibility of choosing extra inks then which ones and why those exactly? And are we choosing ink or colour that we want to achieve on given substrate?
I offer analysis of created files and separation curves for mulitone images.
